Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about SoDNAscan.
What raw DNA data do you accept?
We accept raw data files from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, and most other major consumer genetic testing services. You'll download a raw data file from your testing provider and upload it to SoDNAscan. Learn more in our guide: What is a raw DNA file?
How much does a SoDNAscan health book cost?
Our Complete health book is currently available as a one-time purchase — no subscriptions, no hidden fees. Visit our pricing section for current pricing. See how we compare: Free vs paid DNA analysis.
Is my genetic data safe?
Absolutely. Your genetic data is encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold to third parties, and deleted upon request. We use only self-hosted, cookie-free analytics — no third-party trackers, no advertising pixels. We follow GDPR-compliant data handling protocols. Your privacy is non-negotiable. Read more: Is it safe to upload DNA data? and GDPR compliance for genetic data.
How long does it take to get my health book?
Once you upload your genetic data, your personalized health book is typically generated in under 30 minutes. You'll receive an email notification when it's ready to view and download.
How is SoDNAscan different from other genetic health reports?
Most services give you a list of isolated traits. SoDNAscan generates a comprehensive 200+ page health book that connects findings across 10 biological systems, with confidence scoring on every claim. We tell you when evidence is strong — and when it's not. See our detailed comparisons: Best DNA analysis tools 2026.
What does the confidence scoring mean?
Every genetic finding in your book is rated by evidence strength — from well-established (large studies, replicated results) to emerging (preliminary research, smaller studies). This transparency helps you and your healthcare provider prioritize what matters most. Deep dive: The confidence problem in genetic reports.
What format is my health book?
Your health book is available as a downloadable PDF and can also be viewed directly in your browser. Individual analysis reports for each biological system are available online as well.
Can I add blood work or wearable data?
Yes — SoDNAscan can incorporate blood work results (uploaded as a PDF or entered manually) and wearable health data from Apple Health, Oura, Fitbit, and Whoop. These enrich your book with biomarker correlations and lifestyle context alongside your genetic data.
Do I need a doctor to use my SoDNAscan book?
No — your book is designed to be readable and actionable on its own. However, we strongly recommend sharing relevant chapters (especially Medical Monitoring and Pharmacogenomics) with your healthcare provider for the best results. SoDNAscan is for wellness and informational purposes only. Related: What genetic reports can't tell you.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed — genetic files, health books, blood work, wearable data, and personal information. We also provide a full data export (GDPR Article 20) before deletion so you keep everything you've generated.
